Queen's Hamlet + My Favorites
Louis XVI built this replica of a county hamlet for the amusememt of his bride, Marie Antoinette. She would fancy herself a shepherdess in these half-timbered houses, joined togther by a wooden gallery. Outbuildings include the Mill, the Warming Room and the Marlborough Tower. Its ceilings are covered with scenes from the events of Louis XIV's life, and huge mirrors and chandeliers create a glittering corridor lined with the palace's greates treasures.
